Advanced Search
Choose categories to narrow or expand your search for specific courses, majors, minors, concentrations, schools and departments. You can also search other catalog content, such as policies, student life or admissions information.

Enter a keyword or phrase
Search terms should be separated by spaces; commas and other characters will be removed.
The system will automatically "fill in the blanks" to give you matching results. (For example, entering "BIO 11" would give results that include biology 110 and biochemistry 111.)
The system will only give results that contain all the search terms entered. (So, using the same "BIO 11" example, biology 205 would not be among the results.)
Find whole words only
When this box is checked, the system will only search for results that include the entire word entered. (For example, entering the whole word "biology" will not find references to the abbreviation, such as BIO 101 or BIO 225.)
Find documents that contain:
- all of the search terms
When this option is selected, your search is limited to content that contains all of the search terms you entered. This option will generate a smaller result set.
- any of the search terms
When this option is selected, your search is limited to content that contains one or more of the search terms you entered. This option will generate a larger result set.
- this exact phrase
When this option is selected, your search is limited to the exact search terms you entered. This is best for quickly finding something if you are sure you know how it's listed in the catalog.
Search categories
By default, the system will search the course catalog. However, you may broaden your search to other areas by selecting any of the other checkboxes.
Troubleshooting
If you're getting too many results
You can narrow your search by selecting "Find documents that contain all of the search terms" and/or checking the "Find whole words only" checkbox.
If you're not getting enough results, or getting the wrong results
You can broaden your search by selecting the box for "Find documents that contain any of the search terms" and/or limiting your search terms. (For example, if you enter "ethics" as a search term, it will not return ethical standards. Entering "ethic" will return ethics, ethical, etc. Be sure to uncheck the box for "Find whole words only."
